Mommy made some great cupcakes for today. I couldn't figure out why. There were doughnut holes stacked on top of each other with vanilla icing and little scarves of candy ribbon, with white mini chocolate chips for eyes and candy corn for a nose. Then she sprinkled them with blue sprinkles. What a low sugar treat for the heck of it. Oh! I get it. Today is a special day!
Today I turned 1 year old! It has been a long road but I finally made it. I have learned a lot in a year. I can eat with my hands. I can walk about 6 or 7 steps! I can even wave and say bye-bye. I can say Mommy, Daddy and Edie and clap my hands when they walk in the door. I received lots of nice presents in the mail from people I'm just realizing are related to me and even our neighbor Selma brought me a cute stuffed dog. Just when I thought things could not get any better, Mi-Mi brought over a giant birthday eclair! We even used Edie's 1st birthday candle on top!I was a little sceptical of the massive eclair. Everyone had to coax me into trying it.
I'm glad I did though. It sure was good!

Lily, you are fortunate to have a big sister to help open presents and eat treats.
