WNC Fair

This year Dora the Explorer made a surprise visit to the fair. Mommy and I got to have our picture taken with her before the fun really got started.

Lily here. Well, I must say, this fair thing is pretty cool. I really like the view up here on the Ferris wheel. I didn't realize how pretty it is around here. Sure beats crawling around on the floor.

4 year olds get their own horsey on the merry-go-round.

Yeeeee Haaa!

We're so so high up here! I can see the car.

So this is where milk comes from. It's utterly squishy!

This is our favorite part of the fair. Every year either Mommy or Daddy gets to take me on the camel. This year Mommy has the privilege.

So long everybody. I'm outta here!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDIE!

Yea! I did it! Saturday I had my 4Th Birthday Party. Mommy and Daddy were pretty stressed about it for a few weeks but it all came together nicely. Mommy pulled the whole party together and made it look like a piece of cake (ha ha ha), while Daddy actually grew a "stress belly".

It was so so much fun! There was a baby pool filled with balls, and thrown all over the yard were beach balls, footballs, bouncy balls, and bubbles everywhere. There were 2 bubble machines and every kid who came got a bubble kit too.

I looked pretty cool in my new dress and shades and my friend from school brought me a hula hoop her and her mommy made. She showed me how to use it. She was really good at it.

Some of the moms and their little ones caught up and watched us all have fun. They even wore the same thing! It must be what grown ups do for parties.

Lily kept everything under control and all the mommies and daddies chilled out in the front yard.

This is my friend from school, Remy.

Mommy and Daddy looked on proudly at a job well done.

We piled all the balls into the pool and went swimming in them. I think we lost some kids in there once or twice.

When things died down a little, I got to play chutes and ladders with my friend Michaela.

Whew! That really takes a lot out of you. Fortunately my 5Th birthday isn't for another year!

Gone Fishin'

Uncle Gene came to visit last week and we all looked forward to a day on the river. Early in the morning, Daddy and Uncle Gene went trout fishing on the Stantin Laurel up near Hot Springs. After a while, me and Mommy and Lily met them at the river for a picnic lunch. Mommy and Daddy gave me an early birthday present. A new fishing pole!

Lily loved being in the woods and we had a great time listening to the water and catching up with Uncle Gene.

Daddy taught me all about fishing and I got really good. He kept wanting to go out where the fish were but I didn't want to get my feet muddy.

We didn't catch anything but we had a wonderful day full of family, food, fishing and lots of laughs.
